When to go to Jamaica

The island’s dry season (which runs from December to May) has the best weather, with sun and average daily temperatures hovering around 79 degrees on the coast (it’s colder in the mountains). Of course, the high tourist season coincides, so if you want quiet and lower prices, it’s better to come in the mid- to late fall (when one of the island’s biggest annual events, the Port Antonio International Blue Marlin Tournament, takes place); or in the rainier summer months (when the Montego Bay Sumfest reggae festival happens; www.reggaesumfest.com).
