The Metro in Beijing
Nobody ever returned from Beijing wishing they’d ridden the subway. It costs only 2 yuan (about 28 cents U.S.), but some might think that’s a high price to pay for enduring the smelly, overcrowded cars. On the plus side, it’s safe and covers most of the city’s downtown area; a new Olympic Park line was opened in 2008 in time for the summer Games.
