Europabus in Germany | Travel + Leisure

If you're planning to ride Bavarian's famous Romantic Road past rolling farmland and half-timbered villages plucked from an illustration of Grimm's Fairy Tales, leave the driving—and high gas prices—to Europabus ($130 before rail-pass discounts). Coaches run daily May to October between Frankfurt and Munich. You can hop on and off along the way, grabbing the next bus a day later, or do it all in one day and take the half-hour or so the bus allots for photo-ops in each town: Würzburg, Rothenburg ob der Tauber, Dinkelsbühl, Nördlingen, and Augsburg; after Munich the bus continues on to still more Bavarian greatest hits: Oberammergau, the Weiskirche, and Neuschwanstein castle.
