Like pro-ballpark stadiums in Cleveland and Baltimore, Comerica Park, which opened in 2000, has the thrilling feel of an old stadium, but with all the modern conveniences. On non-game Tuesdays and Fridays between June and September, Comerica offers behind-the-scenes tours that include strolls through the press box and dugouts. Game tickets start at $5.

Tip: Diehards can catch a glimpse of the exterior of beloved old Tiger Stadium, one mile away on Michigan Avenue, in the Corktown section of town.

Admission: Tours are $6 adults; $3 children (4 to 14).
