The Raleigh Lounge
In the early eighties, the South Beach dream began here, at owner Andre Balazs's retro-glam lounge with tropical-print furniture and a wall of glossy portraits from the fifties. Today, the dress code is casual, and Balazs has fine-tuned the décor, making it less about shabby chic. Anyone from Keanu Reeves to Calvin Klein might stroll by at any given moment, but there's never a sense that this is a celebrity-gawking lounge. The Raleigh is always perfectly chilled and straight-up civilized. In these circumstances, only a traditional martini will do.
