Last week, Patagonia announced that it would donate every penny of its Black Friday sales to environmental causes. The brand upheld its promise, and the amount of money they ended up donating is astonishing.

After all was said and bought, Patagonia ended up selling (and donating) $10 million on Black Friday—five times the expected amount, according to a blog post on the company's website.

The money will be divided among different grassroots organizations around the globe.

“Many of these environmental groups are underfunded and under the radar, and they are overwhelmed with your commitment,” the Patagonia statement continues. “On behalf of these activists and every Patagonia employee, we extend a heartfelt thank you to our customers, friends and community worldwide who showed up to #loveourplanet.”

You can learn more about the groups receiving the money on the Patagonia Grant Listings website.
