Gal Gadot is a superhero both onscreen and off. The actress has helped the superhero flick "Wonder Woman" pull in more than $620 million worldwide since its release earlier this month thanks to her stellar performance as Diana Prince. But, more than that Gadot has also been a real life superhero in the eyes of women and young girls the world over thanks to her willingness to buck Hollywood norms and just be herself, and that includes her feet.

“I want to create this trend of doing red carpets in flats,” Gadot recently told USA Today. “I love wearing high heels — it’s beautiful, it’s sexy, whatever. But at the same time, especially stilettos, it puts us out of balance. We can fall any minute. It’s not good for our backs. Why do we do it? I can wear high heels (despite having a sprained back). But I was like, 'Let’s wear flats!' I’ve been waiting for this moment.”

Gadot even rocked her favorite flats to Wonder Woman’s LA premiere. As Refinery29 reported, Gadot wore a pair of $50 Starda sandals from Aldo with her red sequined Givenchy gown.

Moreover, the newly-minted megastar has also been wearing flats to all of her press appearances including Wonder Woman’s Mexico City premiere, where she paired her flowing black Prada gown with some Rocket Dog platform flip-flops.

While you can’t see the shoes in photos Gadot’s stylist, Elizabeth Stewart, revealed the hidden footwear in an Instagram post saying the shoes were “our lil’ secret.”

So really, what’s Gadot’s bigger accomplishment, saving the world on the big screen or saving women’s feet forever by making flats glam again? We’re going with the latter.
