Here's where to get them.
These boots were made for walking like royalty.
The Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton, is known for her style. Not only do women take inspiration from Middleton’s chic wardrobe on a daily basis, her tips on where to buy items, such as her super-comfy Alice Bow heel inserts, have been life-changing.
But Middleton isn’t just stylish, she’s also practical. According to Harper’s Bazaar, the Duchess has been wearing the same pair of Penelope Chilvers boots for the past 13 years.
Because when you have a favorite, it lasts a lifetime.
Middleton was first seen wearing the knee-high, brown leather boot back in June 2004 at the Festival of British Eventing. Even though her style has evolved, her boots have stayed in her closet’s rotation.
Naturally, Middleton doesn’t wear her trusty boots with her clean-cut suits or preppy dresses. The last photograph of the Duchess wearing her favorite boots was on a trip to Bhutan, while on a three-hour hike to a monastery with Prince William.
She’s also pulled them out while trudging through rough terrain in Canada.
The boots themselves look in pretty good condition to survive such rugged treatment. Harper’s Bazaar noted that the boots may have been replaced once or twice in the last 13 years, or she perhaps has several pairs.
However, the boots retail for about $1,004 AUD and can be purchased here. With such a hefty price tag, you might assume they were built to last.
