Red and Blue Packages, KSL Resorts across America

The Spin: KSL resorts have hosted many presidents throughout the years, from The Homestead, in Hot Springs, Virginia (23 commanders-in-chief) to the Hotel del Coronado and Beach Village at The Del, in San Diego (pictured), which has seen 10 U.S. leaders. And before there’s a new president, guests can vote for their pick by reserving one of two packages. The McCain Supporters’ Vacation Package includes a bottle of “red state” wine, a room tax cut, and “family values” treats for the kids. The Obama Supporters’ Vacation Package offers “blue martinis,” a “buy American” resort credit, and a “green” golf discount. Other KSL properties include Barton Creek Resort & Spa in Austin, Texas; La Costa Resort and Spa in Carlsbad, California; Rancho Las Palmas Resort and Spa in Rancho Mirage, California; and Vail Mountain Lodge & Spa in Vail, Colorado. Yes, votes will be tallied!

The Bill: $224–$650 per night, depending on location. Packages must be reserved by Election Day (November 4) and used by Inauguration Day (January 20, 2009).

Best Candidates: Those who want to celebrate their candidate even after Election Day.
