“There’s a stretch of 18th Street between Guerrero and Dolores that’s known as the Gastro, since it neighbors the Castro and houses some of San Francisco’s best food spots: Tartine Bakery, Bi-Rite Market (3639 18th St.; 415/241-9760; dessert for two $10), and one of my long-standing favorites, Pizzeria Delfina (dinner for two $55).
