Wycliffe Well, Northern Territory, Australia

11 of 13

It’s not
surprising that this out-of-the-way outback roadhouse town on Australia’s
desolate Stuart Highway has crystal-clear sky views—and a local restaurant
filled with newspaper clippings and photos of local unidentified flying
objects. The purported UFO capital of Australia and popular pit stop, which
some say sits on one of the earth’s ley, or energy, lines, also serves up one
of the biggest selections of beer in the region.

Recent
Reported Sighting:
In
July 2009, to the north near Tindal’s RAAF Base, two witnesses saw a blinking
light on the horizon, then a huge flash covered the sky. They claim it happens
every night and that the base “immediately loses power.”
