El Toro Salao

Meaning the salty bull, El Toro Salao celebrates the Spanish influence in Puerto Rico. Chef Guillermo Gonzalez has crafted a menu of Spanish tapas, including serrano ham croquettes with a guava rum glaze. The menu also has more substantial fare, such as Spanish flatbread pizzas and the rice-based arroz con pollo and paella. The restaurant is located inside a townhouse in the historic Old San Juan district, and the décor is dominated by the bullfighting posters adorning the walls, a fitting homage to the pervasive Spanish influence.
