Societi Bistro
Located in a restored Georgian-style house, Societi Bistro evokes a homelike atmosphere with exposed brick walls, worn wooden floors, and a bustling open kitchen. During the winter, working fireplaces and orange fleece blankets create a cozy atmosphere, while a summertime terrace provides outdoor seating with views of Table Mountain. Also seasonal, the internationally inspired French menu may include specialties like mushroom risotto with Grana Padano cheese, and fillet au poivre with Madagascan green peppercorns, brandy, cream sauce, and frites. The well-priced wine list includes local vintages available by the glass, bottle, and half bottle.
Insider Tip:
Before dinner, catch an indie film at the historic Labia Theatre just up the street. Opened in 1949, the theatre is considered the oldest independent cinema in South Africa.
