Honolulu
Shokudo
Ala Moana Pacific Center
Honolulu, Oahu, HI, 96814, United States
Shokudo translates to "dining room" in English, and this Honolulu eatery, part traditional Japanese izakaya and part sushi bar, is just that. The popular Japanese chain opened its first U.S. location in Honolulu, and it has earned a devoted following among locals, particularly the 20-something set. The dining area is expansive with high ceilings and strikingly modern decorative accents in black, orange, and cream. The menu includes traditional Japanese fare, such as deep-fried tofu, garlic seared tuna on a hotplate, and a plethora of sushi rolls.
Insider Tip:
First-timers, fear not. The menu has pictures and detailed descriptions (in English) of each dish.
