Meatpacking District
Scarpetta, New York
Scarpetta, housed in an unassuming Greek Revival townhome in the Meatpacking District, made its award-winning debut in 2008, following Scott Conant's successful turns at L'Impero and Alto 18+ and cementing his status as one of Manhattan's New York's foremost Italian chefs. The retractable glass roof and large window overlooking the patio add a sense of depth to the stylish dining room, which features horizontal wood paneling and a long mahogany-topped bar. Scarpetta offers up seemingly simple dishes such as the spaghetti al pomodoro, prepared with handmade pasta, rich Roma tomatoes, fresh basil, and red-pepper infused olive oil.
Insider Tip:
Many patrons enjoy beginning theirs meal with a creamy polenta appetizer served with pats of butter, cheese, and morels.
