Oviedo

A subdued two-story restaurant in an affluent part of the city, Oviedo serves traditional Spanish and Argentinean dishes with a focus on seafood—unusual in meat-obsessed Buenos Aires. Well-respected restaurateur Emilio Garip crisscrosses the wine regions in Argentina and abroad to stock his massive cellar—which, at 14,000 bottles, is the city's most impressive. Garip's specialty is hard-to-find Argentinean bottlings like 2003 Noemia Malbec, 1999 Cheval des Andes and 2001 Angel Mendoza Pura Sangre.
