Morgenstedet

134 Fabriksområdet
Copenhagen, Denmark

A vegetarian restaurant that has been open for over 20 years, Morgenstedet is a small cottage with a whitewashed exterior that's surrounded by a pebbled yard and a garden with wooden tables. Inside, an intimate atmosphere with mismatched furniture and an open kitchen is accentuated by an antique stove. Only two warm dishes exist on the menu, which ranges from Far Eastern to Mediterranean, as well as five or six salads, and usually a soup of the day. Flavors tend to fluctuate based on a changeable kitchen staff but sometimes include ratatouille, hummus, and tofu with mushrooms. Cash only.

Insider Tip:

Self-serve cutlery and drinks from a station are your responsibility (in keeping with the low prices and concept that everyone contributes), but food is brought to the table by waiters.
