Hidden down a serene cobbled road behind Regent Street, this 12-year-old North African eatery beguiles the senses with the exoticism and extravagance of a Moroccan casbah. Lanterns, Moorish poufs, low tables, and funky Arabesque music set the mood, while the scent of rose incense fills the air, transporting you to the Marrakesh medina. Start with sweet and spicy pigeon pastilla (a pastry parcel with almonds), followed by traditional lamb tagine with prunes, sultanas, and quince, or couscous with spicy merguez; round off the evening with sticky honey-infused baklava. Arrive 30 minutes before your reservation and slink downstairs to the attractive basement Kemia bar for a cocktail. (The Momo Special consists of vodka, fresh lemon juice, sirop de gomme, and soda.)
