Lower East Side
'inoteca
Inoteca, located on a bustling corner in the lower East Side, offers an extensive wine selection, small-plate Italian dining, and (perhaps best of all) top notch people-watching. Sit on the patio or by the large windows to watch people strolling by or enjoy a more intimate dinner in the downstairs cantina, which houses over 600 bottles of wine. The menu is divided into six parts: insalata, affettati, pane, piatti, fritto, and bevanda. Inoteca's specialty are paninis like the soppressata with goat cheese and tapenade. Another delicious choice is the bruschetta with egg, truffle, and melted fontina cheese.

Insider Tip:
Inoteca buys much of its produce and meat from local farmers, such as the wagyu beef purchased from Heritage Foods.
