South End

Hamersley's Bistro

553 Tremont St.
Boston, MA, United States
TEL: (617) 423-2700

Adjacent to the Boston Center for the Arts in Boston’s gentrified South End, Hamersley's Bistro occupies a red brick building that once housed a piano factory. The kitchen is open to the warmly lit, butter yellow main dining room, which seats 80, and a smaller dining room looks out over the restaurant's Tremont Street garden (patio seating is available in the summer). Chef Gordon Hamersley prepares hearty, rustic dishes using fresh, locally-produced ingredients whenever possible. His French-inspired menu changes seasonally, but the roast chicken with garlic, lemon, and parsley is a staple. Other signature dishes include souffléed lemon custard and spicy halibut and clam roast.

Insider Tip:

While Hamersley's suggests making reservations, tables in the small dining room are always set aside for walk-ins during the week.
