Red Hook
The Good Fork
Brooklyn, NY, 11231, United States
Run by Korean-born chef Sohui Kim, The Good Fork serves up Asian-inspired dishes for dinner and a weekend brunch. This Red Hook restaurant's interior mirrors the neighborhood: the dining tables and dining room were built by chef Kim's carpenter-actor husband, Ben Schneider, creating an overall wood-crafted, shipyard appearance. The dinner menu includes Korean-style steak and eggs with kimchi rice alongside decidedly not-Asian items, such as Berkshire pork chop. Brunch continues this mixed-up theme by including dishes like crab eggs Benedict and homemade pork and chive dumplings. Chef Kim also hosts special events each year, including the annual New Year’s Eve party.
Insider Tip:
Walk down Van Brunt Street to the water's edge or follow Van Dyke Street to the Red Hook Pier to watch the sun set behind the Statue of Liberty.
