Firefly Dinner at Big Tree Farms
In the volcanic soil of the foothills of Mount Batukaru, Big Tree Farms produces more than 80 crops on 10 acres of terraces. A former coffee plantation it is lit by hundreds of lanterns fashioned from coconuts. During the dry season (May to September), the farm hosts the Firefly Supper Series; the changes often but focuses on the property’s organic produce. Dishes might include homemade pumpkin ravioli and spit-roasted chicken, accompanied by sourdough bread. The six-course meal is served under banana leaf-thatched pavilions decorated with woven plates, pandanus mats, and beeswax candles; the view is of Bali’s last old growth forest.
Insider Tip:
The farm's coconut palm sugar and raw cold processed cocoa powder is available for purchase online.
