In 2007, Nate Tilden and Matt Piacentini opened their “domestic and foreign” restaurant on trendy Ace Hotel's ground floor, boasting high ceilings, communal wood tables, and a destination bar. Chef Chris DiMinno's menu changes daily, but may include chicken fried rabbit, grilled whole branzino, or fideo with squid ink vinaigrette and scallops. Pastry chef Danille Pruett contributes whoopee pies with peanut butter filling and baked Alaska with bourbon ice cream, shrouded in marshmallow meringue and topped with walnuts. Jeffrey Morgenthaler manages the revered bar program, which introduced barrel-aged cocktails. His menu has more than 60 whiskies, local craft beer, and house-brewed ginger beer.
