Café Nemoland

Fabriksområde 52
Copenhagen, Denmark
TEL: 45-32-958-931

Café Nemoland had its beginnings as a fruit and vegetable store managed by a guy named Nemo, who used old military barracks for storage space. Today, the venue retains the original owner's name, yet has transformed into a colorful cafe and live music venue within walking distance of downtown Copenhagen. The relaxed, hippie atmosphere draws diverse crowds ranging in age from teens to adults, and the multi-hued shop's red vinyl seat cushions, purple walls, and curvy doorframes accentuate the freestyle vibe here. Fifty guests can dine comfortably in the open-air cafeteria on menu items that change frequently but may include an omelet for brunch, a club sandwich for lunch, and pasta or a chopped steak for dinner.

Insider Tip:

Since marijuana and haschisch are sold freely on the streets of Christiania, Café Nemoland is a safe place to smoke, but only in the spacious outdoor area.
