Café Charlot

38 Rue de Bretagne
Paris, France
TEL: 33-01-44-54-03-30

A go-to bistro for the trendy locals of Marais, Café Charlot is housed in a former bakery across from the Marche des Enfants Rouge—literally the “Market of Red Children,” the oldest food market in Paris. The café is designed in a 1950’s retro style, with a salvaged zinc bar, white tiled walls, frosted mirrors, and simple globe lights. There’s also an outdoor patio beneath a large white awning. Charlot is a popular brunch spot, serving pain perdu (French toast) and scrambled eggs with smoked salmon. For lunch or a late night dinner, opt for the cheeseburger with crisp frites.

Insider Tip:

If you’re just stopping by for a coffee and croissant, order at the bar; it will cost you half as much than it would at a table.
