Boon Fly Café

Set just off Highway 121 in a cheery, bright red farmhouse, the Boon Fly (part of the lovely boutique Carneros Inn) is packed around the clock. The reasons become clear almost as soon as you’ve taken a seat in the airy, casual dining room, where sunlight slants through giant windows over the polished-plank tables and open kitchen: the food here is unfancy, reasonably priced, and utterly delicious. While the dinner and lunch menus include some tasty choices (like the barbecued baby-back ribs in an orange-spiked habanero sauce, or the Kobe-beef burger on a house-made poppyseed brioche), the standout meal here is breakfast. Show up early (serving starts at 7 a.m.) to try the Boon Fly Benedict (made with thick-sliced Caggiano ham, poached eggs, and jalapeño hollandaise sauce) or fresh-made mini-doughnuts powdered with cinnamon sugar.
