New Orleans
August
New Orleans, LA, United States
Opened in 2001 by James Beard Award-winner and New Orleans native John Besh, August has become a fine dining favorite in the Central Business District. Located in a four-story French-Creole building dating from the 1800’s, the restaurant still has original details, such as hardwood floors, mahogany paneling, and antique mirrors. Surrounded by huge flower arrangements and unusual crystal chandeliers, patrons savor contemporary French cuisine white seated beside a row of large windows. The menu changes seasonally but may include horseradish-encrusted fried oysters and rabbit cassoulet with andouille sausage. Diners also recommend any dessert served with the salted toffee ice cream.
Insider Tip:
Try the four-course degustation menu which is customized for each table and paired with half glasses of wine.
