Beijing

Arts Coffee Haven

25 Chengxian Jie St.
Beijing, China
TEL: 86-10-6405-2047

This small shop was originally intended to sell handmade crafts, but the owner found so many people stopping in looking for coffee that he decided to make it a coffee shop. Traffic to this small gray building is sparked by the nearby Confucius and Lama temples, and owner Wang Haiyan hosts a variety of visitors looking for a place to rest and sip. Haiyan found most of the decorations (many antiques) at local flea markets, and a number of them have Buddhist influence. Illy and Fair Trade coffees are available, as well as beer, wine, pizzas, and sandwiches.

Insider Tip:

Nearby Lama Temple hosts the Tibetan Buddhist Art Museum of Yonghegong.
