Lower East Side

Allen & Delancey

115 Allen Street
Lower East Side
New York, New York
TEL: (212) 253-5400

Pretty young things flirt by the light of flickering votives in this fabulously romantic brick-walled space that evokes a 1920's speakeasy half-hidden on a forlorn stretch of the Lower East Side. Because of the talent and stellar credentials of British chef Neil Ferguson—he opened Gordon Ramsay at the London—the food doesn't take a back seat to the ambience. Bone marrow is poached, then caramelized and gilded with caviar; a rabbit terrine served with violet mustard; the ubiquitous slow-roasted pork belly tastes all new again with its pickled pear garnish and an exotic touch of fenugreek syrup. All that—at gastropub prices.

Tip:

Try creative cocktails like the Delancey, a refreshing blend of Prosecco, pomegranate juice, and elderflower liqueur.
