“After air travel, my skin always feels lackluster and dehydrated – especially on those long flights back and forth to China! So I make sure to always travel with an ultra-hydrating moisturizer, like my White Lotus Moonlight Recovery Cream (which I fondly call my humidifier in a jar!). For red-eye flights, I prevent dark circles and puffiness by keeping an emergency pack of Intensive Herbal Eye Treatment pads in my purse for a refreshing and quick pick-me-up.”

“To me luxury travel means having the opportunity to meet interesting new people and share great local food. In Hong Kong, I usually work till ten p.m. then a take a whole gang out for food. My favorite spot is Yung Kee restaurant in the very cool area Sham Shui Po on Kowloon. The food is AMAZING and it’s a great, noisy, totally local place: no English spoken here.”

Before traveling make sure the hotel you are staying in has a gym. If you want to stay healthy set yourself up for success.

“Be prepared! When I travel I always bring a couple of apples and a container of raw almonds. When those late night cravings kick in, instead of heading to the vending machine or ordering late night room service stick to the basics. If there is an ingredient you can’t pronounce on the label don’t eat it. Instead go natural with an apple, banana or orange. Before traveling make sure the hotel you are staying in has a gym. If you want to stay healthy set yourself up for success. Lots of hotels have personal trainers on staff that can give you a Rockstar Workout! Jump ropes are GREAT because they can fit in any bag and you can get an amazing workout without taking up a lot of space. Bring a Workout DVD and do a quick session in your room. One of my favorites is Intensati, a mind and body workout that works you from head to toe.”

Packing your flea market finds. It’s always great to bring back décor and market finds from your travels, but it is important they arrive safely back home so that you can enjoy them!

“The number one productivity tools for today’s travelers is a good night’s sleep. As The Benjamin Hotel’s Sleep Concierge, I help make sure that everyone who stays at our hotel walks away well rested or gets their money back.

  • Use your bed only for sleeping – do not read work or eat in bed
  • Choose a pillow that’s perfect for your needs
  • Try to avoid heavy meals at least three hours before retiring because digestion interferes with proper sleep
  • Avoid caffeine after lunch
  • Drink warm milk before retiring as it contains the amino acid L-tryptophan that aids sleep”
