Tuscan wines have, in the past few years, become the darlings of the wine world. Full-bodied, full of character and terroir, Brunello di Montalcino and the wines of Bolgheri like Sassicaia have received 100 points and been named the world’s best. Some of Tuscany’s wine bars feature amazing views, cozy atmospheres, and an assortment of regional wines. A few are additions to local bars and are full of us local winemakers exchanging boasts and lies. Others are coupled with restaurants (enjoy the wine alongside tasty meats and cheeses) or wineries, while still others offer limited seating to customers. All of these wine bars have bottles available for purchase—something you’ll definitely want to consider after you taste their exquisite offerings. I hope you have the opportunity to pop in to at least one of these venues for the wines, the view, the local jazz musicians, or the local gossip.
