Chances are you’re well aware of Miami’s party scene, but somewhere between all the tanning, eating, and day drinking, you’ll need a little bit of “me” time.  Good thing Miami has as many spas as it does palm trees. How else do you think the beautiful people of the Magic City revel year-round? For starters, we’ve got two whole months dedicated to the celebration of Zen. If you happen to be visiting during July or August, take advantage of Miami Spa Month—treatments at the city’s best sanctuaries are just $99 during the event. While your wallet is more likely to take a hit outside of Spa Month, your body, mind and soul will thank you.  Vacations are all about relaxing, so make sure to forego the morning breakfast routine for a rejuvenating ritual instead. And if you get hungry, these havens have plenty of fruit-infused water, herbal tea, shortbread and chocolate covered pretzels to fill you up as you learn to let go.

Mandarin Oriental

At the Mandarin Oriental, you’ll enter a private spa treatment room, equipped with an even more private shower. And if you’re VIP, the room comes with a vista of Biscayne Bay for you and your love to gaze at while surrendering to a couples massage. You won’t have a tense bone in your body after undergoing any one of the spa treatments that borrow a little something from the ancient traditions of Chinese, European, Balinese, and Thai cultures.

Lapis

Lapis isn’t a just spa. Thanks to the 75-foot mineral pool, jet baths, eucalyptus steam room, and “silence is golden” nap suite, it’s a temple. Plus, there’s the blue rain room and tunnel, where hot and cold water falls from the skies and washes away all the tension in your body. Whether you choose to lie on the bench or walk through the tunnel, it’s a religious experience.

The Standard

The massage therapists at The Standard are holistic wizards. Besides offering the only three-leveled co-ed Haman in the city, The Standard spa is also equipped with world-class therapists who do some serious work on your body. Splurge on a crystal sonic massage, where the vibrations of crystal bowls are intertwined with customized bodywork. Good luck finding that anywhere else in the country, and be sure to pay a visit to the private exfoliation room before you leave.

Soho Beach House - Cowshed

I know, I know. Why would I include a member’s only club spa as part of the list? I found a loophole. Hotel guests are entitled to all the same luxuries as members, which means full access to the Cowshed Spa. Not only do they curate an all-natural product line and enforce full moon yoga on the beach, they’ve also got therapists with 20-plus years of experience, so you know you’re in good hands.

Canyon Ranch

Turns out feeling like a million bucks only costs $295. The starting rate for spa packages at Canyon Ranch is a bargain for Florida’s largest wellness spa. With 70,000 square feet of leisure, you’ll swear you’ve traveled to a distant place—it’s just the experiential rains, where you can choose from a Caribbean monsoon, Atlantic thunderstorm, or Polar mist shower to soothe the spirit and transcend the soul. Once you come back to earth, take any one of their 40 daily fitness classes. That’ll get your heart-rate going.
