Things to Do for Couples in Jackson Hole

When coming to Jackson as a couple, of course you’d like to rest, relax, and sightsee together. This town has plenty of ways to do that, often accompanied by views beautiful enough to (temporarily) distract you from your loved one. I’m also guessing that, because you two picked Jackson Hole, you’re looking to share some adventure too. We’ve also got that covered. Of course there’s fly fishing, snowmobiling, skiing, and hiking. (If you want to combine the latter with camping, I recommend a site in the north fork of Cascade Canyon, where you can hike up to Lake Solitude for the most beautiful sunset dinner you’ll ever have.) There’s also more unique adventures here—think hot springs and flying. Do one … and then follow it with a shared spa treatment and/or drinks, dinner, and jazz. Here, my suggestions for the best things to do as a couple in Jackson Hole.

Dinner at Wild Sage

With only seven tables, the Wild Sage is as intimate as a restaurant can get. Add a roaring river rock fireplace, spot-on service, one of the valley’s most diverse and extensive wine lists, and entrees—Wagyu tenderloin, Maine diver scallops, elk loin—meant to share and, without a doubt, it’s the valley’s most perfect couples’ dinner.

Granite Hot Springs

You won’t have this hot springs pool to yourselves—in summer it’s busy with families and in winter there are dog sled tours. Still, it’s an otherworldly experience to share: soaking in 104-degree spring water in a pool below 11,000-foot mountains. Hike up one of the nearby trails and chances are you’ll have that to yourselves.

Tandem paragliding at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort

What says romance better than running off the top of a mountain together? The experienced pilots at JH Paragliding do tandem flights from the top of Rendezvous Mountain. Each of you will be strapped to your own pilot, but you’ll be within whooping and laughing distance of each other as you fly over the ski slopes below.

Body Sage Bath House Ritual

This three-hour treatment for two at the uber-intimate (four treatment rooms) Body Sage  Spa starts in a deep soaking tub before moving on to side-by-side scrubs using products that channel bath house traditions from around the world. Finish with a massage by some of the valley’s best therapists. Want more? The four-hour treatment includes a facial.

Drinks and Jazz at The Granary

Even without the jazz (Friday nights), the piano bar (Saturdays), and the in-your-face views of the Tetons, this lounge atop a butte just outside of Jackson is the valley’s most romantic place to grab a drink. Come winter, coziness rules. In summer, doors open to a deck, tucked into the hillside like an aerie.
