Winter in Jackson Hole means skiing. And skiing or snowboarding means you’ll either need rental gear or need a trained pro to take care of your gear. And skiing might also mean massages. Maybe even a facial to combat our supremely high and dry climate. And tasty food to help your muscles recover. And comfortable beds for a great night’s sleep. And intriguing après ski cocktails. Some hotels do some of these well. The five listed below do a great job with all of them, with one exception at one hotel. Snake River Lodge & Spa’s Gamefish restaurant doesn’t impress us, but you’ve got nearly a dozen other options a five-minute walk away. (Many would say Snake River’s five-story spa more than makes up for Gamefish though.) If only these hotels had a partnership with Mother Nature. I’m sure they’d love nothing more than to guarantee you 10-inches of powder every day you’re here.

Four Seasons

Turn your skis over to the resort’s ski valets upon arrival—and after every ski day—and they’ll be ready and waiting for your just feet from the lifts the next morning. After a day on the slopes, head for the outdoor pool and three whirlpools. Attendants can bring both warm towels and specialty cocktails.

Amangani

Amangani is 12 miles from Teton Village, but the hillside luxury resort offers shuttles to and from the mountain. It also maintains a base area lounge for guests’ exclusive use. The spa offers treatments and massages tailored to our high, dry climate and to aid recovery from a long day on the slopes.

Hotel Terra

Of course a hotel developed by a former ski movie star (Rob DesLauriers appeared in over 25 ski flicks) knows how to treat skiers. The hotel’s own adventure consultants are happy to share their favorite runs while Jackson Treehouse, on the ground floor, offers ski and snowboard rentals and clothing.

Teton Mountain Lodge

Even if it didn’t have the village’s best après ski spot on its ground floor—that’s The Spur—you’d want to stay at TML to enjoy the giant fireplace in its lobby, its generous rooms and suites, many of which have kitchenettes, Solitude Spa, and ski-in/ski-out location. (The tram is the closest lift.)

Snake River Lodge & Spa

The ski shop here offers ski valet service to all guests—think warm boots in the morning—and also does tunes and waxing.  Guests get a twenty-percent discount on ski and snowboard rentals too. Need more exercise than skiing? There’s a 1,500-square foot fitness room. There’s also a 17,000 square foot spa.
