In a place as effortlessly pretty as Cape Town, I find that I can't even make a quick run to the grocery store or to the gym without being accosted by a staggering view. It feels like wherever you look in this city, you’re gazing at either the mountains, or the ocean, or both at the same time. That being said, a few spots are even more picture-perfect than the rest. Some of the area’s most beautiful vistas can be seen from atop the nearby mountains, others, like Maiden’s Cove, are visible at sea level, while yet another might take you walking through the treetops. Whether you’re in need of a place to propose, looking for a new profile picture sure to amass hundreds of likes, or just want to have a moment of scenic solitude, check out any of these five picks and head off for that once-in-a-lifetime Kodak moment.

Table Mountain

This one's a no brainer—it's the most identifiable landmark in Cape Town, and at an impressive 3,500 feet, you can rest assured that the views will be sublime. I recommend taking the cable car up and familiarizing yourself with all the neighborhoods that radiate out in all directions around the mountain. The truly adventurous can abseil their way down.

Lion's Head

Maiden's Cove

You'll find this scenic lookout point between the Clifton and Camps Bay beaches on Cape Town's Atlantic Seaboard. Maiden’s Cove is a great spot for a sunset picnic, or set up a grill and have a braai against the gorgeous backdrop of Table Mountain and the Twelve Apostles mountain range.
