Cancun has earned fame as one of the world’s most stunning beach destinations thanks to its unbeatable location. The popular Hotel Zone is a 13-mile strip of land nestled between the bright turquoise of the Caribbean Sea and the deep blues of Nichupte Lagoon, and visitors can enjoy some jaw-dropping views throughout their beach vacation in this island paradise. When it comes to scenery, you just can’t beat Cancun; the ocean in this region is striped with a mix of turquoise and blue tones as far as the eye can see, and the white sand beaches feature a spectacular skyline of beautiful hotels and resorts. The waters of Nichupte Lagoon range from emerald to royal blue and every color in between, and endless mangrove islands can be found throughout this extensive body of water. When traveling to Cancun, you’re sure to discover breathtaking views at every turn, and the following locations are among the very best.

El Mirador

To take the best possible Cancun beach photo, stop by El Mirador (meaning “The Lookout Point”) at Kilometer 17 of the Hotel Zone. Here, you’ll find a deck with dazzling views of the beach and the many colors of the Caribbean, just perfect for taking pictures of the skyline, the water, or your friends and family.

La Isla Shopping Village

Cancun’s most popular mall is located at Kilometer 12 of Boulevard Kukulcan. The marina area of this attractive outdoor shopping center features restaurants and bars all along the lagoon, so you can enjoy a memorable meal with gorgeous views. You’ll also find a large fountain by the lagoon that looks simply amazing when it’s lit up at night.

Observation Tower

Located at The Embarcadero, Cancun’s rotating observation tower (known as the Torre Escenica) is the best way for visitors to see the full scope of the city. From 260 feet above the ground, you can see the entire Hotel Zone, Nichupte Lagoon, the Caribbean Sea, and beyond. Don’t forget to bring your camera for this attraction.

Ultramar Ferry to Isla Mujeres

The small island of Isla Mujeres is situated just a few miles off the coast of Cancun, with ferries crossing between these two destinations several times a day. The Ultramar ferry leaving from El Embarcadero has outdoor seats on the upper deck so you can easily view the amazing colors of the water, Isla Mujeres, and the Cancun skyline.

Malecon Tajamar

This new waterfront neighborhood is still being developed, but right now it has a half-mile walkway along Nichupte Lagoon. Located in Downtown Cancun near the entrance to the Hotel Zone, it has quickly become a popular place for locals to jog, do yoga, and walk their dogs. The sunrise views are absolutely amazing.
