All-inclusive resorts may have a less-than-sterling reputation, but the Sunset at the Palms raises the bar. Located at the north end of Negril’s legendary Seven Mile Beach, the 65-room property has the intimacy and amenities of a small luxury hotel. Elevated bungalows with Balinese-style furnishings and treetop views are spread through a 10-acre tropical garden across the road from the beach. In addition to the typical water sports, the menu of activities includes Caribbean cooking classes, tropical cocktail workshops, nature walks led by the resident gardener, and alfresco movies projected onto a screen on the beach.
Tip: The resort is most popular with honeymooners and young couples; those with young kids might want to book elsewhere.
Room to Book: One of the spacious split-level suites, which have private balconies furnished with outdoor daybeds that overlook the waving palms.
