This Tim and Kit Kemp property brings laid-back glamour to Soho, which was previously devoid of anywhere pleasant to sleep. Though the five-story building is a former multistory car park, there’s no evidence of its erstwhile incarnation, except a vehicle-inspired mural in the aptly named Refuel bar—which has fast become a buzzing local hangout. Kit’s style is homey and traditional with a modern twist: think pink, embroidered armchairs and sofas dotted around the library, in-room retro Tivoli radios, and fine Frette Egyptian cotton sheets contrasted with snug woolen blankets. The 91 guest rooms and suites are large and light-filled with a loft-apartment feel, softened by warm furnishings reminiscent of home—but with twice-daily maid service.

Insider Tip: Join the Film Club in the private 45- or 100-seat screening room on Sundays for a three-course lunch or dinner and a 3:30 p.m. movie.
