New Delhi
Park Hotel
Connaught Place
New Delhi, 110001, India
If the Imperial encapsulates Delhi’s past, the Park offers a vivid glance into Delhi’s future—and the future looks uncannily like Miami Beach crossed with Islington. Part of a national chainlet of similarly forward-looking, uber-fabulous hotels, this pulsing, 220-room hive of hypermod design (by Terence Conran & Partners, among others) has the expectedly flashy restaurant, noisy bar, and dance floor—none of which deserve special attention from non-guests, but all of which are a magnet for Delhi’s chic young things and other people who favor hot-pink settees and Jamiroquai remixes. The outdoor pool, though seemingly just a prop for another bar, is actually quite lovely. Rooms are a bit small but stylish in a cool, Ian Schrager-y sort of way; from the look of them you’d have no idea you were in Delhi. Welcome to what’s next.
