Stocked with custom wood furnishings and bold, Art Deco–inspired textiles, the five suites at this stylish property fit right into the city’s artsy Neve Tzedek neighborhood. Opened by the owners of boho-cool Nina Café across the street, it’s one of the city’s few boutique hotels, but it’s got the laid-back feel of a pied-à-terre: there’s no lobby (guests check in at reception through a separate entrance next door), and the uncluttered suites, reached via a red-carpeted staircase, start at an impressive 700 square feet. Slate-walled bathrooms, stone and white parquet floors, throw rugs from Afghanistan, and photographs and paintings by Israeli artists make for an unfussy, homegrown design mix. Step outside onto Shabazi Street, the area’s winding main artery, and join locals trolling for cutting-edge fashion, jewelry, and housewares amid the red-tile-roofed buildings lining the lane.
