Chelsea/Kensington
MyHotel Chelsea
From the flower planters to the bedroom pillows, MyHotel Chelsea brims with warm shades of pink. Architect James Soane of Project Orange reinvigorated this space with the color, turning a former Victorian-era police station into a modern hotel. Besides the recurrent pink accents, the 45 rooms and suites have amenities like a night safe and heated towl rails. Even the twin-bed single rooms have standard amenities, despite their compact size. The hotel's plant-filled library is suited to quiet reading, and the tapas bar Three5 serves international comfort foods like Spanish paella, fish and chips, and Cajun tuna.
Room to Book:
The hotel is located in a residential area; request a fourth-floor room for views over the Chelsea rooftops.
Insider Tip:
The hotel is a two-minute walk from Barts, an unnumbered speakeasy inside a 1930’s Sloane Avenue apartment building. At the hidden bar, you can sip on cocktails poured from a teapot and dress up in vintage costumes.
