Boutique-ish and quirky, this sliver of a building with just 64 rooms is tucked away down a dead-end back street in Tsim Sha Tsui East. Don’t let the unprepossessing surroundings put you off, though; the neighborhood, while a little gritty-looking, is perfectly safe. Inside, the common areas—including a small bar and a cozy lounge/mini-café—are decorated with classical Chinese sculptures and European paintings collected by the owner. The rooms are simple and streamlined, outfitted in cream-colored fabrics and with flat-screen TV’s and high-speed-Internet access. Overall, it’s one of the best values in this super-pricey city.

Insider’s Tip: If you’re after a more sophisticated meal, the Peninsula, with its high-end restaurants, is just a five-minute stroll away.

Room to Book: The higher the better. On the very upper floors, those with 20/20 vision (and, okay, maybe a pair of binoculars) might even catch a glimpse of the harbor.
