This modern-Oriental-style guesthouse, in a former office building near Silom Road, is entered through heavy wood doors that lead to a glossy bi-level reception hall. In the lobby, guests sprawl on angular couches, paging through Australian fashion mags and surfing the Web on Wi-Fi–connected laptops. Most of the 13 silver-and slate–accented rooms are set up like studio apartments: a partition separates the teak soaking tubs and waterfall showers from the living space; the small writing table next to the minibar doubles as a vanity. The room to book: No. 12, a junior suite with windows that overlook a rock garden, and a sound system that’s iPod-ready.
