Katikies Hotel
Built atop a cliff overlooking the Santorini caldera basin, Katikies Hotel is renowned for its sweeping views of the Aegean Sea and the island's colorful sunsets. The bright white, freeform complex is comprised of steep stairways, wooden bridges, and cubist cottages housing 27 rooms and suites. The guest rooms are almost entirely white, accented with light hardwood floors, blue antique pottery, and glass doors that open onto a private terrace overlooking the sea. The two infinity pools also provide panoramic views of the water, as does the Katikies Restaurant, which consists of four candlelit tables on a hidden veranda.
Room to Book:
Avoid room No. 5, which is located directly beneath the restaurant and is often noisy during dinner setup.
Insider Tip:
The lounge chairs surrounding the main pools are often claimed early in the morning; if they’re all taken, head to one of the two Jacuzzis or the small cave pool (open seasonally).
