Used as his base while shooting the film Tetro, director and winemaker Francis Ford Coppola turned this sleek Palermo Soho abode into one of the city’s premier boutique hotels, following the same pattern as his other residences-turned-hotels in Belize and Guatemala. The property has three levels of gardens, a solar-heated pool, an outdoor kitchen and parrilla, an on site sommelier, and a beautiful plant-filled terrace. Each of the six airy rooms feature art from Coppola’s personal collection. A full time housekeeper and English speaking concierge are there to assist.
Room to Book:
Book Sofia and Romy’s, located upstairs in the main house, which has a king-sized bed and a private balcony overlooking the garden.
Insider Tip:
Coppola’s wife Eleanor, an interior designer, decorated the property. Note her love of animal skins and tribal masks.
