Staying at the six-room Inn at Kent Falls is like visiting your stylish country friends who are partial to plush towels and slipcovered furniture. The inn strikes a balance between Colonial-era restraint and modern-day comfort—the floors in the renovated 18th-century farmhouse still creak atmospherically, but rooms include free Wi-Fi. In the mornings, owner Ira Goldspiel, a former fashion executive, and manager Glen Sherman serve breakfasts of homemade granola and brioche French toast. The room to book is the Lakes Suite, which has a claw-foot bathtub and a fireplace lit with candles instead of logs.
