Anchoring the funky, hip Guadalupe District, this dapper 128-room (91 of which are suites) Pueblo-style hotel is just a pleasant 10-minute stroll west of the Plaza of the Governors. It's an efficiently run, spotless property with attractive (if generic) Southwest-style rooms, but the real gem is the hotel's swank and secluded Hacienda wing, whose 35 rooms and suites have Native American rugs and ceremonial blankets, fireplaces, CD players, and cavernous tile bathrooms with walk-in showers. A team of professional butlers tends to Hacienda guests' every whim, from pressing slacks to booking dinner reservations; a 5,000-square-foot full-service spa opens summer 2008. An interesting piece of trivia: the cast and crew of the movie Brothers (including Jake Gyllenhaal and Natalie Portman) rented out the entire Hacienda while filming here in 2007.

Tip: Everything in the hotel gift shop, with its rare selection of high-quality jewelry, textiles, and crafts, is made by Native Americans.

Room to Book: The White Buffalo Suite, which has a separate living room with a fireplace and private balcony (affording panoramic mountain views), as well as a private dining room.
