Lake Buena Vista - Walt Disney World

Disney's Beach Club Resort

Crescent Lake is right outside your private terrace at this Orlando classic; that’s Disney’s Yacht Club (see # 2) next door. The two resorts share a steak house, café, white-sand beach, and a sunny, eternal-summer vibe.

Just a four-minute stroll from Epcot’s side entrance, this 583-room resort is the closest hotel to a Disney park entry. Its own star attraction is the elaborate 35,000-square-foot sandy-bottom swim zone, Stormalong Bay, with multiple pools and hot tubs, and a killer waterslide that starts from the crow’s nest of a ship’s mast. The rooms, in New England–esque creams and blues, are standard stuff, with dark and meager bathrooms—but a Disney property is chosen for convenience, not luxury. Out back is a lakefront marina from which ferries creep slowly to the front gate of Disney’s Hollywood Studios. When Epcot is open, you can walk through the park to its monorail stop and catch a ride to the Magic Kingdom.

Tip: Lake-facing rooms endure the late-evening squealing around the pool and the incessant honking of ferryboats.

Room to Book: Rooms in the eastern wing are closest to a peaceful pool (away from Stormalong Bay) and to Epcot’s entrance.
