Set on a prime location along the Grand Canal (but still north of San Marco and away from the crowds), Ca’ Sagredo is a landmarked 15th-century palazzo artfully converted into a 42-room hotel. The property was restored over seven years and opened to guests in 2007, its parquet floors and Murano-glass chandeliers gleaming. Paintings by Renaissance and Baroque masters—Giambattista Tiepolo, Pietro Longhi—cover the walls, and guest rooms are spacious and elegant, with details such as tufted-velvet headboards and marble baths. At L’Alcova, the intimate upscale restaurant overlooking the canal, the menu changes every two weeks, and dishes highlight Venetian specialties, including the area’s stand-out seafood.

Room to Book:

Grand Canal Doubles look onto the sinuous waterway that has been the city's main thoroughfare for hundreds of years.

Insider Tip:

Book a complimentary tour of the world-famous Rialto market with the hotel's chef, Josef Klostermaier. Together you'll shop for local fish and produce, then hop a gondola back to the property to prepare lunch in the restaurant kitchen.
