Aldrovandi Villa Borghese
Situated on the outskirts of the Villa Borghese gardens, the Aldrovandi hotel has a quiet location within walking distance of Via Veneto and the Scalinata della Trinità dei Monti (Spanish Steps). Originally a 19th-century residence, the hotel maintains its historic appearance with marble floors, wood-paneled columns, and crystal chandeliers. The 108 guestrooms, renovated in 2008, are decorated with antique furniture, marble bathrooms, and windows that overlook the surrounding villas, the Borghese gardens, or the hotel pool, which is bordered by subtropical gardens. The restaurant is run by Oliver Glowig, who earned two Michelin stars during his time in Capri.
Room to Book:
Room No. 419 faces the garden and pool and is particularly quiet.
Insider Tip:
While on Via Veneto, stop by Harry’s Bar, featured in the classic 1960 film La Dolce Vita. Just make sure to dine outside if you can—you’ll pay about half as much as you would inside.
